december 2025

december 2025's playlist is maybe not exactly what i would want to listen to today, but it does a great job at keeping the vibes of that year for me and feels like a bittersweet way to rap up a fairly tumultuous year. the photo is of my street after it snowed, as is tradition for me for the winter ones.

december 2024

i really do enjoy my 2024 december playlist, it doesn't feel forced and yet has a good sort of indie-adjacent medium energy theme to it, which is nice. i can tell by how many songs are in it, it was probably a "december" playlist, i.e. the one i used from november to january. photo is of me at armadale station looking back towards the direction of my house covered in snow, after a trip to aberdeen was cancelled by bad weather, i remember this day really well and really fondly, it stuck with me a lot for some reason.

december 2023

looking back at december 2023 makes me cringe a bit, which hopefully means i'm a changed person, i don't necessarily dislike any of the music itself (except arctic monkeys, eugh) but just the context and mindset that i put them there, but i still think it was an important year for me. the photo is of the sky near rigghouse road in whitburn.

december 2022

december 2022 is a pretty large departure from years before and after. looking back it sort of feels like the first year i was properly cognisant and started to develop and experiment with my music taste, because of that, i really do think it's one of the most interesting ones, a sort of half-step in my life. the photo is of the moxy hotel at edinburgh airport, taken from our car, as we used to often go on holiday over the christmas period, so it was a distinctly "december" thing for me.

december 2021

december 2021 was sort of a weird one, with basically just elo, the beatles, and fleetwood mac, all bands i still like, but nowhere near to the same degree, it reminds me of the idea that if you have a limited choice you will find more to enjoy than with limitless options, and that's how i see this, as at this point music was something i would put on to listen to specifically by itself, with whatever few mp3 files i had ripped from cd's my dad had. the photo is of one of my friends houses in armadale, with a sneaky phallus drawn on the snow.

december 2020

december 2020 was sort of weak sauce, made only because i had the genius idea to start chroniciling these things, it's quite short and bland, but so was my music taste at the time, but i appreciate it because of it's simplicity, and the foresight i had to do this, proper good songs for the most part as well, most i wouldn't mind still listening to today. photo is of somewhere near my street, with the sky being pink, i think i thought it looked nicer than it did but this was also prior to me taking many, if any photos each month, so it's the best we can get.
