december 2025
december is always the most important month in these for me, as it is a culmination of my music taste throughout the year, and this one is exactly that, it is maybe not exactly what i would want to listen to today, but it does a great job at keeping the vibes of that year for me. the photo is of my street after it snowed, as is tradition for me for the winter ones.
november 2025 (pt. 2)
after my old bad habit of getting fed up of playlists half way through the month, i made november 2 as a sort of reset, an opportunity to start over and stop it from getting too crazy, as i was very close to making the december playlist in september, i think this playlist is really quite fun and quirky, just a fun vibe. photo is of me and my girlfriends eggs during an eggdrop competition on our anniversary (she won).
november 2025 (pt. 1)
november 1 is sort of where it felt like the year was going back to relative normalcy for me and the songs reflect that, a lot of nice songs here that are all-timers for me. the photo is of school food coupons on the roof of a bus stop in dunfermline near fife college, as me and my girlfriend were there for the scottish youth film festival.
october 2025
october was a rough month for me, and this playlist is quite a sad one, even if it doesn't seem it, i have a connection with quite a lot of these songs and they fill me with unreasonable dread now, as i associate them with this time of my life. photo was from the window of a bus during a much needed trip i took to inverness to clear my mind, somewhere near laggan along the great glen fault.
september 2025
september was the calm before the storm for me in a lot of ways, i remember the month fondly but it was sort of where things started to go wrong, but i felt like i had more freedom than ever before. the songs are very much a mix of sad and personal, and happy and fun. photo is from atop camera obscura in edinburgh, taken on my girlfriends birthday.
august 2025
august was a pretty packed month for me, and one full of suprising difficulty due to julys little incident, i had lots of fun though and i look back on it very fondly, ireland and weezer were great and i wouldn't have had it any other way. the photo is of lake geneva in switzerland, taken during my euro-summer-train-holiday.
july 2025
july was such a busy month, and it was really fantastic, i loved my holiday and it really scratched my train/public transport itch, and gave me an everprescent sadness when i'm on a train that isn't first class, creature comfort is real, especially after you've experienced a lner croque monsieur. the photo is of me in hospital on fentanyl and nitrous oxide, just afer my testicular exploration and double orchiopexy after my testicular torsion.
june 2025
june was great and makes me miss summer, the vibes were very weez-y and very lighthearted, even going back to some of my more embarassing musical picks, but i still enjoy looking back on it. photo is of stirling castle from kings park, when i took my girlfriend went on a surprise trip.
may 2025
may looked like a bit of an edgier month for me music wise, with quite a bit of millenial rock - one of my musical guilty pleasures, looking back on the month i think it was a bit of a struggle for me. the photo is of some steps between the north and south banks of the river tyne, taken during a walk i went on whilst waiting for my return train from newcastle.
april 2025
april was seemingly a quite dark month - atleast musically, with a lot of melancholic tracks, i don't remember tonnes, but i did go on 3 trips in 1 month which i believe is a record for me. photo is of some random backstreet in stockbridge.
march 2025
march was the peak of my chappell era, which has since dimmed down a bit due to her lack of new music, but this playlist is nice! feels a bit curated, and dare i say - performative. but still good. the photo is of a bus in central manchester, taken after i rode the free bus (v1) to the city centre.
february 2025
february was a bit of a throwback for me, with a lot of my "old" old music taste coming through, such as elo or the beatles, but also some new hyper-poppy tracks, like pink diamond. i remember the month fondly, and mostly through the lens of the 2 valentines trips (newcastle and manchester). photo is of me and my girlfriend by edinburgh waverley station.
january 2025
january felt like a real fresh start for me in 2025, a lot changed in the prior year and i felt like a different person, and yet these songs don't reflect it, perhaps it wasn't such a drastic shift as i thought, or my music taste doesn't deviate much. the photo is of me and some friends in the glasgow transport museum.
